Royal Opera performances on BBC Radio 3
Summer schedule features pieces from core repertory as well as Covent Garden rarities.
Seven Royal Opera performances are to be broadcast on BBC Radio 3 as part of the station’s Opera on 3 summer season.
The run of broadcasts recorded at Covent Garden begins on 19 May with Judith Weir’s Miss Fortune which received its British premiere earlier this year. The opera, based on a Sicilian folk tale stars Emma Bell, Jacques Imbrailo and chart-topping Noah Stewart.
As well as a number of core repertory pieces, there will also be an opportunity to hear Covent Garden rarities including Rusalka – conducted to acclaim by Yannick Nézet-Séguin – and Falstaff, currently on stage.

The season also features broadcasts from the Metropolitan Opera, New York and English National Opera. All programmes will begin at 6pm.
