Royal Ballet dancers to perform at Aldeburgh Festival

Seven dancers to perform a new piece by Kim Brandstrup to celebrate Britten's centenary.

Royal Ballet dancers are to perform as part of a Mixed Programme entitled Britten Dances at the Aldeburgh Festival tonight (Thursday 20 June) to celebrate Benjamin Britten's centenary.

Alexander Campbell, Deirdre Chapman, Mara Galeazzi, Itziar Mendizabal, Marcelino Sambe, Johannes Stepanek and Edward Watson will perform a piece called Ceremony of Innocence by Kim Brandstrup. The score is Britten's Variations on a theme of Frank Bridge and Barry Wordsworth will conduct.

The piece will be performed alongside two works by Ashley Page and Cameron McMillan for The Royal Ballet of Flanders.
