With some great responses to our Va Pensiero challenge, there's still time to send us yours!

Ahead of Royal Opera LIVE on 7 January, we invited people from across the globe to film themselves singing Verdi’s well-loved chorus “Va pensiero” and share their clips with us. A selection of your renditions will be broadcast to viewers around the world on the day, so watch Rolando Villazon’s demonstration, sing along and upload your video to YouTube as a video response for your chance to sing with The Royal Opera.

We asked for submissions from interesting locations and have already a splendid selection of entries including submissions from the Sydney Opera House to the gardens of the Kyoto Imperial Palace in Japan. Other highlights so far include entries from the prolific Maestro Wenarto and an entry recorded during the preparation of the Christmas turkey from Frances Sladden.

Author Will Self got in on the act, with a deep baritone rendition that we highly recommend watching.

So, whether alone or with friends, at a local landmark or in the open air, don’t delay! We’d love to hear you sing, wherever you are, whatever your voice is like, film and send us your entry before the big day!
