The production was acclaimed by critics and audiences alike when it premiered in March this year in the Playhouse's inaugural season.
The production saw the orchestra of the Early Opera Company perform with period instruments in the candlelit space, a beautiful reproduction of a Jacobean playhouse. Find out about how the sound of baroque music is recreated for L'Ormindo.
As with its first season, 2014/15 will see the venue stage theatre and music, with other productions including John Ford's 'Tis Pity She's a Whore, and Francis Beaumont's The Knight of The Burning Pestle.
The Royal Opera will also stage Claudio Monteverdi’s Orfeo – another baroque opera - at the Roundhouse in January 2015.
L'Ormindo returns to the Sam Wanamaker Playhouse at Shakespeare's Globe from 3 February-5 March 2015.
