Les Vêpres siciliennes, English Touring Opera and The Wind in the Willows win at 2014 Olivier Awards

The Royal Opera and The Royal Ballet both represented at the awards.

Tonight’s Olivier Awards were announced on the main stage of the Royal Opera House, and we are delighted to have won in two categories.

Stefan Herheim’s imaginative production of Les Vêpres siciliennes won Best New Opera Production.

Will Tuckett’s dance theatre adaptation of The Wind in the Willows was named Best Entertainment and Family winner.

Our colleagues English Touring Opera won Outstanding Achievement in Opera, while Es Devlin received XL Video Award for Best Set Design for Chimerica at the Almeida Theatre. Gillian Lynne and Marianela Nunez gave the Outstanding Achievement in Dance to lighting designer Michael Hulls.

Highlights of The Olivier Awards will be broadcast by ITV tonight at 10.15pm.

    Delighted to hear that Les Vepres Siciliennes was awarded Best New Opera production. It was truly imaginative, and I hope we may look forward to the DVD .Congratulations ROH for this and the award for The Wind in the Willows.
