Les Troyens and Die tote Stadt released on DVD

Korngold’s Die tote Stadt, performed by Finnish National Opera, has also been released on DVD. Directed by Royal Opera House Director of Opera Kasper Holten, the production stars Klaus Florian Vogt as Paul and Camilla Nylund as Marietta.
Based on Virgil’s Aeneid, Les Troyens follows Trojan warrior Énée (Aeneas) from the destruction of his home city Troy to Carthage, where he falls in love with its Queen, Didon (Dido).
Epic in every sense of the word, the production brought together one of the largest casts and biggest sets ever seen on the Covent Garden stage. Find out more about the construction and transportation of two Ancient Greek cities.
Conducted by Royal Opera House Director of Music, the production stars acclaimed Dutch soprano Eva-Maria Westbroek as Dido and American tenor Bryan Hymel as Aenas, who won an Outstanding Achievement in Opera Olivier Award following his performance in Les Troyens, Rusalka and Robert le diable.
