Just announced: 2011/12 Cinema Season

Nine Productions, 22 Countries, Over 600 Cinemas

There’s a Royal Ballet ballet or Royal Opera opera coming soon to a cinema near you. We’ve just announced our next Cinema Season which kicks off this September with Gounod’s Faust starring Angela Gheorghiu and runs until May 2012. There are over 600 cinemas across the globe taking part this season.  On show are  six operas and three ballets, five to be screened live (Faust, The Sleeping Beauty, Romeo and Juliet, Rigoletto and La fille mal gardée), and four from recent repertory (Adriana Lecouvreur, Tosca and Cendrillon).

  • Thursday 15 December 2011 The Sleeping Beauty (The Royal Ballet live)
  • January 2012 Cendrillon (The Royal Opera recorded)
  • February 2012 Il Trittico (The Royal Opera recorded)
  • Thursday 22 March 2012 Romeo and Juliet (The Royal Ballet live)
  • Tuesday 17 April 2012 Rigoletto (The Royal Opera live)
  • Wednesday 16 May 2012 La fille mal gardée (The Royal Ballet live)
