Gallery: Kenneth MacMillan's career in photos

With twenty years having passed since his death, Kenneth MacMillan remains a towering figure in the world of ballet. He choreographed works that have become core pieces of the repertory including Romeo and Juliet, Mayerling, The Rite of Spring and Manon; his work still delights audiences and the dancers performing them alike.

As well as these full-length works, MacMillan choreographed a number of shorter works such as Concerto, Requiem and Las Hermanas; which make up this current Royal Ballet Mixed Bill.

Kenneth MacMillan’s career saw him dance as well as choreograph and we took a look into the archives to find some behind the scenes images from his time at Covent Garden:
