Kasper Holten's Royal Opera production of Mozart's Don Giovanni will be broadcast by BBC Four on 27 April 2014 at 7pm.

The production, which had its premiere earlier this Season, was acclaimed by audiences and critics alike and stars Mariusz KwiecieńAlex Esposito and Malin Byström. It explores the creative, seductive and destructive nature of Don Giovanni as a character, using video projection to play with themes of reality and imagination. Watch Kasper Holten’s video diary series to find out more about the behind-the-scenes work that went into staging the opera.

Most welcome news! It will be marvellous to see this fascinating production once again. Perhaps it will mark the beginning of further opera broadcasts from ROH on BBC ?

Following its Olivier award, it would be splendid to see Les Vepres Siciliennes.

  2. I hope I can get the broadcast by BBC4 tomorrow. I am in USA and therefore believe it will be 5 hours earlier here??

  3. Absolutely fabulous! I was gripped from start to finish by such an amazing cast. Many many congratulations x
