We are very pleased to announce that Jamie Ashwell has joined the Education team in Thurrock as Cultural Venue Operations Apprentice.

Jamie is relatively young, at 18 years of age, but he has had a lot of experience of the arts and theatre (both front and backstage) already.

After finishing college in June of this year, he made the decision to apply for this new and exciting role in the Purfleet Education office. As well as gaining valuable work experience, he will also be studying towards the EDI Level 3 National Award in Cultural Heritage Venue Operations

Jamie said: “I am looking forward to the challenge of working in a different, new and exciting environment. I am excited to be at the forefront of future ROH Education events that shall be taking place at the High House Production Park.”

Over the next two years Jamie will be heavily involved in supporting the team with on-site events and a new tours programme due to start in September.

By taking part in a work placement or by volunteering with the Royal Opera House at the High House Production Park, or at our Covent Garden theatre, you will gain an insight into one of the world’s leading arts institutions. The experience will introduce you to the wide range of opportunities available within the creative industries, as well as helping you to develop your skills and enhance your opportunities for employment.
