Channel 4 is to broadcast a short dance film choreographed by Royal Ballet First Artist Jonathan Watkins as part of its ‘Random Acts‘ series.

The film, entitled Bunker is about the human ability to adapt to surroundings. It stars Olivia Cowley, Lauren Cuthbertson, Hayley Forskitt, Eric Underwood and Edward Watson. The film is directed and produced by Kate Church with a team that includes Maja Zamojda (Director of Photography), Kate Keara Pelen (Art Director), Ed Coltman (Editor) and A Silent Ripple Productions (Music).

‘Bunker’ will be the second short film choreographed by Jonathan for the series. The first, entitled Sofa, which he also directed is a three-minute dance film featuring a performance by couch-potato character Derek in front of the TV. Both films were produced by Kate Church with The Ballet Boyz as executive producers.

Jonathan recently co-choreographed Diana and Actaeon with Liam Scarlett and Will Tuckett. The work was part of Metamorphosis: Titian 2012.

Bunker will be broadcast on Channel 4 on Monday 17 September at 00:10am. It will be available online on 4oD afterwards.
