Cast change: Vlada Borovko to sing in Mitridate, re di Ponto on 7 July

The Russian soprano replaces Albina Shagimuratova due to illness.

Due to illness, Russian soprano Albina Shagimuratova has had to withdraw from singing the role Aspasia in the final performance of Mitridate, re di Ponto on Friday 7 July.

The role of Aspasia will now be performed by Russian soprano Vlada Borovko.

Vlada Borovko joined the Jette Parker Young Artists Programme in September 2015 and last Season sang Frasquita in Carmen, Violetta Valéry in a last-minute debut in La traviata, Xenia in Boris Godunov and Anna in Nabucco. This Season she has also sung Clotilde in Norma, Ermione in Oreste at Wilton’s Music Hall, Mademoiselle Jouvenot in Adriana Lecouvreur, and Giannetta in L’elisir d’amoreShe performed the role of Aspasia on 29 June and 1 July.

The rest of the cast remains the same.

    Third cast change... Un peu assez de tous ces changements, on achète un billet pour une distribution et on se retrouve avec une autre le soir de la représentation.

    Was there on the 6th and I have to say that despite the young age, Mrs. Borovko did a pretty good job. I just wonder about her voice- it is a bit too early to sing a hard role as Aspasia- her low register is not so strong and has not the purity as the upper one. But , again, well done.

    I saw Borovko sang Leonora from "Il Trovatore" on Operalia medici tv. It is quite surprising after hearing this lady as Aspasia. Then I googled and discovered she has already sung Verdi Requiem... The voice is dark and I believe it will become bigger with age.
