Due to injury, Rupert Pennefather is unable to perform the role of Prince Florimund in The Sleeping Beauty for the matinee performance on Saturday 15 March.

It is therefore necessary to make the following cast changes:

Hikaru Kobayashi will replace Lauren Cuthbertson as Princess Aurora.

Federico Bonelli will replace Rupert Pennefather as Prince Florimund.

The rest of the cast remains unchanged.

Shame that Cuthbertson can't dance :-(. Do you have any idea when Pennefather will be back, and whether he will still perform with Marquez?

      Dear Sarah

We will keep you posted with any news about Rupert Pennefather's future performances as we have it.

      Best wishes

Surely you mean Prince Désiré as that is what the Prince is called in this production?

    • Rachel Beaumont (Content Producer (Web Copy)) responded on 3 March 2014 at 10:02am

Thanks for your query. Though Prince Désiré was the name used in Marius Petipa's 1890 production, Sadler's Wells Ballet (now The Royal Ballet) chose to use the name Prince Florimund in their 1946 production, of which the Company's current production is a re-staging.
      All best,
      Rachel
