Italian tenor Giuseppe Filianoti has withdrawn from the role of Rodolfo in La bohème. The role will now be sung by American tenor Charles Castronovo for four of the run's seven performances.

Charles has previously sung the role of Rodolfo in Berlin and Detroit. He made his debut with The Royal Opera as Ferrando in Così fan tutte in 2004, and most recently sang Ferrando in Così fan tutte, Tamino in Die Zauberflöte and Ruggero Lastouc in La rondine for the Company.

Charles will sing in the performances on 9, 13, 17 and 19 July. The role of Rodolfo in the other performances will be sung - as scheduled - by Vittorio Grigolo.
