Due to illness Italian tenor Antonio Poli has withdrawn from singing the role of Don Ottavio in tonight’s performance of Don Giovanni. The role will now be sung by Brazilian tenor Atalla Ayan.

Atalla made his debut with The Royal Opera last Season in the role of Ruggero Lastouc in La rondine. He joined the ensemble of Stuttgart Opera in the spring of 2012 and made his debut there as Alfred in Die Fledermaus. He has subsequently sung Don Ottavio in their new production of Don Giovanni and Tamino in Die Zauberflöte. His most recent roles include Alfredo in La traviata, Ismaele in Nabucco, and Fenton in Falstaff, all for Stuttgart Opera. Other recent engagements include a European concert tour with Angela Gheorghiu. Future plans include Rodolfo in La bohème for Dutch National Opera and further appearances for Stuttgart Opera.

The rest of the cast remains unchanged.
