Principal Guest Artist and choreographer Carlos Acosta will sign copies of Carlos Acosta at The Royal Ballet, a book celebrating his 17-year career with The Royal Ballet, from 3.30pm on 23 October 2015.

The signing will follow the Friends rehearsal of his new production of Carmen and will take place in the Royal Opera House's Paul Hamlyn Hall.  Copies of the book will be available to purchase on the day, prior to its general release in November, from the mobile shop in the Paul Hamlyn Hall. Members of the public not attending the rehearsal are welcome to join the signing and can purchase copies of the book and join the queue from 2.30pm.

This retrospective, published by Oberon Books, contains over one hundred and fifty images of Acosta in a wide range of the Company’s repertory on stage and in rehearsal with the world’s leading ballerinas of recent years including Leanne Benjamin, Darcey Bussell, Alina Cojocaru, Tamara Rojo and Miyako Yoshida as well as shots of Acosta with The Royal Ballet’s current stars, Sarah LambLaura Morera, Marianela Nuñez, Natalia Ospiova and Zenaida Yanowsky.

Prefacing the collection of images is a specially written introduction by The Royal Ballet’s Director Kevin O’Hare as well as tributes from previous directors, dancers and friends – giving readers a rare insight into Acosta’s time with the Company.

Carlos Acosta at The Royal Ballet will be released on 2 November 2015.

Carlos Acosta’s new production of Carmen runs 26 October–12 November 2015 as part of a Royal Ballet Mixed Programme. Tickets are still available for some performances.
