Other person - don't be bitchy to this poor woman. Just enjoy the upcoming season. The editors should have corrected this error fo her.

So many thanks for restoring the Magazine listings calendar, 'in response to public demand'~ for once that phrase has real meaning, and your many enthusiastic Friends will be more than grateful for your ready action.
To be sure, in the many years I have been devouring mailings from Covent Garden, diverse demands for space have grown exponentially, and it must now be almost impossible to reconcile these into the one Friends' Magazine.........but long may you continue to square the circle, Susan, Teresa and Anne.

I'm shattered, while I'm in london there is no ballets on, is there anything else to do with ballet on at all between the dates the 14th of September to the 19th of September? (aside from the ballet boys thing)

    • Chris Shipman (Content Producer (Social Media and News)) responded on 25 April 2014 at 12:23pm

      Hi Olivia,

Sorry but we don't have any ballet/dance works on over these dates, only opera.

      Thanks,

      Chris

Olivia. The "Ballet Boyz thing" is well worth seeing. It is a new programme, so I am unable to comment on the content, but I have seen their previous work. They work with fine choreographers, like Russell Maliphant and Liam Scarlett, and their dancing is vibrant, skilful and highly professional.

Thanks for the new program and magazine, can you tell me will the leaflet for packages for the next season be mailed separately or was mine missing?

      Hi Georg,

We are finalizing the package structure and will post information about them as soon as we can.

    Roundhouse...this could be intriguing.
I love the venue; and I'll be interested to see how it works.

Any more details that you can provide about the Roundhouse performance?

Is there any more news of packages yet... only 2 weeks to go for us (mere mortal) Friends!

Has the Elisir performance on Nov 22 been removed? It's still listed on the whole season pages but not here or on calendar ?
Matinees are vital for those of us outside London

  9. Stanley Klar responded on 5 June 2014 at 9:09pm Reply

Why were the above articles of various dates not received till today. This was the first notification of the new packages and left no time for full consideration or discussion with friends as to choice of dates. This new arrangement could turn out to be a shambles. Let us see what happens at 10.00am tomorrow!

It's disappointing that the website is still falling over when a tranche of booking opens. It's been a very frustrating hour, although I was ultimately successful because I happen to have had the time today to wait for the servers to come up again, and again, and again.

Please inform if you are doing rehearsal for Idomeneo and if so, when

    • Lottie Butler (Assistant Content Producer) responded on 10 June 2014 at 5:34pm

      Dear Roger,

I'm afraid that, at the moment, there won't be an open rehearsal for Idomeneo.

      All the best,

      Lottie

Could you provide pricing information for L'Orfeo at the Roundhouse? It's really not on that, a day before Friends Booking opens, we've still not been told anything about this.

I notice also that Roundhouse members get priority booking a day before Covent Garden Friends. This hardly seems fair either - presumably they have already hoovered up all the cheap tickets.

    • Ellen West (Head of Online Content) responded on 17 June 2014 at 3:38pm

      Dear Stephen

Thank you for your query, the pricing for L'Orfeo will be as follows:

      Stalls:
      £75
      £65

      Rear Stalls:
      £65
      £55
      £45
      £35
      £25
      £15

      Circle:
      £45
      £35
      £10

      Standing:
      £10

The Roundhouse and the ROH both have an allocation of tickets in each area and price band, so you will not be competing with Roundhouse members for the tickets that go on sale tomorrow.

      Best wishes

      Ellen

Horrified to just discover this morning (the day of Friends Booking) that the L'Elisir performance on 22nd November isn't available for general booking. Although I applaud the concept of encouraging families who have never been to the opera before to attend a performance, a closed performance, such as this does need to be indicated as such in the magazine. Good communication is really important!

    • Ellen West (Head of Online Content) responded on 18 June 2014 at 10:03am

Thanks for the feedback John, I will pass it on to the Friends team.

      Best wishes

      Ellen

    • Ellen West (Head of Online Content) responded on 18 June 2014 at 3:41pm

      Dear John

The Friends team have asked me to pass on the following message:

'Unfortunately the agreement regarding the performance on 22 November was finalized after the magazine has gone to print. We always encourage the Friends to visit our website for changes. In this case, we also highlighted the change in our e-news which was sent in April after the magazine arrived.'

      Best wishes

      Ellen

  14. John responded on 19 June 2014 at 4:55pm Reply

Thank you, Ellen for taking this up with the Friends Team. I've just checked the e-news that came out in April, and although there's a link to "Welcome Performances", I can't find any information that tells me either in the e-mail or in the link that the 22nd November performance of L'Elisir is a Welcome Performance or that it is not available for general booking!

    • Ellen West (Head of Online Content) responded on 19 June 2014 at 5:57pm

      Dear John

Thanks for letting us know. I have forwarded your feedback to the Friends office.

      Best wishes
