With the new Season almost upon us, we're looking for new Student Ambassadors for the 2014/15 academic year.

Following the success of last year's Student Ambassador scheme, we're once again looking for passionate, creative and confident students who will be brilliant advocates for the Royal Opera House in their universities from September onwards. Ambassadors will promote exciting productions from the Main Stage, Linbury Studio Theatre and nationwide Cinema Season programmes throughout the year by ensuring that the Royal Opera House is represented in the right places and at the right times on and around their campus/universities.

We believe that all students should have access to world-class productions at the Royal Opera House, whether it be in London or at cinemas nationwide and want you to be the one that helps spread the word to your fellow students.

As an Ambassador, you'll get:

  • Access to discounted and complimentary tickets to Royal Opera House productions
  • A fascinating insight into the inner workings of one of the world’s greatest opera houses
  • The opportunity to meet and network with other Ambassadors and arts professionals
  • The opportunity to meet the Royal Opera House staff and creative team
  • And who knows – perhaps a little bit of CV enhancement!

As well as this, the most impressive Student Ambassador will be awarded with a week long’s work experience at the Royal Opera House in September 2015.

To apply to be a Student Ambassador, please send your CV and a description of why you would make a brilliant Ambassador, including an idea of how you would promote the Royal Opera House in your campus (max 250 words) to studentstandby@roh.org.uk by 26 August.

Applications are open to students from across the UK and shortlisted applicants will notified by 29 August and must be available for phone interview the following week. Successful applicants will be invited to a welcome event to meet other Ambassadors and the Royal Opera House team at the Royal Opera House on 11 September, followed by seeing Anna Nicole that evening. Travel expenses will be covered.

You will need to be signed up to our Student Standby scheme so if you are sharing this with friends please don’t forget to tell them to register first.

ROH Students is generously supported by the Bunting Family and Simon Robey.

    Hi there,
I’ve just tried to email my application to be a student ambassador to studentstandby@roh.org.uk and it says the email address doesn’t exist and it is undeliverable.
Is there another address I could send it to?

    Thanks very much,
    Emma

      Hi Emma,

The email address should work (but we'll look into why you're getting bounce-backs) - if you email your application to twitter@roh.org.uk, I can pass it on.

      Thanks,

      Chris

      Hi Emma,

Please email your application to studentambassadors@roh.org.uk

This blog is for the previous Season and the email address has changed. We will amend the above information to clarify this.

      Thanks,

      Chris

    Hi,

I also had the same problem described above so sent my email to the twitter address too. I haven't heard anything back though and was wondering whether this worked or not?

    Many thanks,

    Eleanor

      Hi Eleanor,

Thanks very much - both your applications were received and have been passed to the Student Ambassadorship team. Apologies for the issue with the email address.

      Thanks
