In 2001, Lauren Cuthbertson won Young British Dancer of the Year. It was an auspicious start to a career that has seen her rise in just seven years to Royal Ballet Principal. Her repertory with The Royal Ballet includes Odette/Odile in Swan Lake, Giselle, Aurora in The Sleeping Beauty, Juliet, Sugar Plum Fairy in The Nutcracker and Nikiya and Gamzatti in La Bayadere. She has created roles in ballets by Wayne McGregor and Christopher Wheeldon.
