New Zealand soprano Madeleine Pierard recently performed in December as the Sandman in our opera Hansel and Gretel. In this video she guides us through her preparation for the role – her rehearsals, extensive prosthetic make up fitting and her vocal coaching.

Madeleine is part of our Jette Parker Young Artists Programme, you can read more on them in our Discover section.

The Jette Parker Young Artists Programme is generously supported by Oak Foundation and run by Artistic Director David Gowland and Administrator Siri Fischer Hansen.
