Student Insights: Tapestries – an Immersive Operatic and Dance Experiment

Immerse yourself in music by Janáček and Schubert as never before through a one-of-a-kind multi-sensory experience, exclusively for ROH Students.

Most recent performance

There are currently no scheduled performances of Student Insights: Tapestries – an Immersive Operatic and Dance Experiment. It was last on stage 20 May 2017 as part of the Spring 2016/17 season.

Background

Tapestries is a choreographed sensory experience created to lead audiences into the intense music worlds of Janáček and Schubert. As we prepare for the Royal Ballet revival of William Forsythe’s The Vertiginous Thrill of Exactitude, which is choreographed to Schubert’s Ninth Symphony, this is an opportunity to explore how both opera and ballet operate as the original immersive art forms.

Choose one of thirty Experience tickets to be blindfolded, paired individually with a dancer and become part of the performance. Experience ticket holders will be led through a concert for the senses, fed gourmet tastes by chef Adam Thomason, surrounded in bespoke scents created by Sarah McCartney and enveloped in intense movement- and touch-based choreography by BitterSuite. Or choose an Audience ticket to watch and hear the action unfold.
