YCN (You Can Now) is a curated, creative network which helps imaginatively minded people and organisations to make relevant new connections with new young designers and creative minds. It runs an annual student creative competition.
This second year of collaboration saw an opportunity for the Royal Opera House to get a young person’s perspective on opera and ballet as art forms and to help us create a new identity for the ROH Students scheme.
After receiving hundreds of incredible ideas, we shortlisted five winners and chose to run with this one from Georgina Hopkins as we felt it tapped into the heart of what opera and ballet could be for our students – a disruptive and clean approach to art forms that are all encompassing. Not only is this our new ROH Students campaign but Georgina also won the YCN Student of the Year award for her work – no mean feat given the huge volume of entries from across the UK.
