What is a podcast?

A podcast is a multimedia file distributed by subscription over the internet using syndication feeds (RSS). Once it is downloaded you can play it back on a computer or mp3 player.

Podcast - Podcasting lets you receive the latest podcast as soon as it's available. You need a piece of podcast software to allow you to subscribe to receive a podcast. This software can check the Royal Opera House website for new podcasts.

What is a vodcast?

A Vodcast is what we’re calling the video version of a Podcast.

Vodcasts allow you to subscribe to video programmes. The video is delivered to your computer using the same reader software you would use to subscribe to Podcasts. You can then watch your Vodcast straight from your PC, or download them to your multi-media mobile device.

To stop receiving them you can unsubscribe from Royal Opera House podcasts at any time.
