Can you create your own Romeo and Juliet in 40 seconds? It can be the balcony scene, the ball scene, the tomb scene - any scene that grabs you – maybe the entire story?! Express yourself in words, music, dance or even animation – your imagination is your limit. Maybe you could create a short film or trailer telling others why they should come and see The Royal Ballet perform live on the Big Screen near you.
A judging panel from the Royal Opera House and BP will choose a selection of the best films and they will be screened around the UK on The BP Summer Big Screens alongside The Royal Ballet’s Romeo and Juliet on 1 June 2008.
All entries will be screened through this website so keep checking back to see yours!
Please remember, we will only screen films we feel are suitable for family viewing.
There is a range of ways for you to submit the film:
Best option -16:9 Full Height Anamorphic on DV Tape
Medium option – Filmed on your camcorder and sent in on DVD
Fun option – film it on your mobile phone – download it and email it to 40secfilm@roh.org.uk
Please attach your name, age, and contact details.
Whatever format you choose – you will be in with a chance to have your film screened on all our BP Summer Big Screens on 1st June.
Address to send your films: ’40 Second Films’, FAO Simon Magill, Royal Opera House, Covent Garden, London, WC2E 9DD
Deadline for all entries is 26th May - so get going and good luck!
