FAQs
Q. What operating system do I need to be able to book online?
A. If you're using a PC, Windows 98 / NT / 2000 / ME / XP. If you're using a Mac, Mac OS X. You will also need Cookies and JavaScript enabled. If you want to use the Select Your Own Seat function, you will be required to have Adobe Flash 8 (or above) plug-in install on your machine. Visit Adobe.com to download the latest plug-in for free.
Q. I've never booked online before…
A. Our step-by-step guide will take you through it.
Q. I'm using AOL, why can't I book online?
A. Due to our security settings, we don't support the AOL browser. Please use instead Internet Explorer 5.01 - 5.5, 6.0, 7.0 | Netscape Navigator 7.2 | Mozilla Firefox 1.0 - 2.0 | Safari 1.0 - 1.2, 2.0.
Q. I've found something I want to book but I can't see the BUY NOW button.
A. This is likely to be for one of two reasons. Firstly, your computer is storing an old version of the production pages; you can delete this by clearing your temporary internet files, follow the Help files which are supplied with your browser. Secondly, some productions are only accessible to certain recognised groups of customers (Eg. The Friends of Covent Garden). If you are a member of one of these groups you need to log in first.
Q. Why can't I sometimes use the Select Your Own Seat function?
A. Select Your Own Seat may not be available for some performances or events in the Linbury Studio Theatre and other performing venues other than the main stage. You are still able to book these online and will be offered the best available.
Q. Where can I buy Listening Seats?
A. These are not available to buy online because there is no view from these seats and we need to explain this. Please phone or visit the box office instead.
Q. The tickets that were in my shopping basket have disappeared.
A. Your tickets are held for 30 minutes. If payment is not completed within this time they are removed from your shopping basket.
Q. Why can't I select more than nine tickets?
A. You are welcome to buy as many tickets as you need based on availability. For bookings of ten or more, please contact groupbookings@roh.org.uk or 020 7304 4002.
Q. How close to a performance can I buy tickets online?
A. You can buy tickets online up to two hours before the start of the performance.
Q. Will I have to queue at the Box Office to pick up tickets I've bought online?
A. If you book tickets more than ten days before the performance and enter a UK delivery address, you can select to have them delivered. Otherwise there is a prepaid ticket collection point at the Information end of the Box Office counter. Please bring the credit card used for the transaction and a copy of your email booking confirmation. If you have selected concession seating you'll need to show proof of concession. If collecting tickets on the day of the performance, please arrive at the Box Office at least 30 minutes before curtain up.
Q. Can I report an error message?
A. If you receive an error message while either booking or browsing online, you can use the Report an Issue link.
