The Royal Opera’s Il trovatore | Thursday 14 July at 7.15pm with pre-performance screening from 6.45pm.

Don’t miss this new production of Verdi’s gripping masterpiece, Il trovatore  – an opera packed with powerful arias and thrilling choruses, including the famous and instantly recognizable ‘Anvil Chorus’.

 

What I need to know before I attend:

The Piazza has open access to all. Additional seating is being provided for this event, but please bring cushions or blankets to ensure your comfort.  There will be food and drinks available to buy from stalls in Armada Way; alternatively please bring your own picnic. We discourage bringing your own alcohol to the event. All litter should be disposed of in bins provided or taken home. Please dress appropriately for the anticipated weather conditions.

In the interest of public safety, the following conditions will apply in Armada Way:

• Free entry to the event is on a first come first served basis subject to capacity

• Event stewards will be entitled to search persons and/or their possessions on entry to the event enclosure. Staff will not take responsibility for any prohibited items

• The Piazza is not suitable for large parasols, gazebos, awnings and portable barbecues

• The organisers reserve the right to refuse admission to the event enclosure for whatever reason

• All children (under 16) must be accompanied by an adult

All litter should be disposed of in the bins provided or taken home. This is an outdoor event so please dress appropriately for the anticipated weather conditions

How do I get there?

Car - All routes to city centre. Parking is available at the Theatre Royal and Guildhall car parks and on the streets nearby. Evening parking charges apply.
