Surrounded by the Town Hall, Civic Centre, Central Library and mima: Middlesbrough Institute of Modern Art, this modernised public square also includes Big Screen Middlesbrough. Centre Square is the perfect spot to bring a picnic, watch the world go by and enjoy a varied programme of arts and events.

What I need to know before I attend:

Centre Square has open access to all. The site is level with a mixture of grass, paving and metal pathways. Children must be accompanied by adults.

Seating: We shall be providing a limited number of chairs on site and you may wish to bring your own seating, cushions or blankets. Large portable furniture (parasols, tables etc) is not permitted.

Facilities: Toilet facilities provided in Civic Centre. There will be food and non-alcoholic drinks available to buy from stalls in the square; alternatively please bring your own picnic.

In the interest of public safety, the following conditions will apply in Centre Square:

• Seating supplied will be available on a first come first served basis
• Event stewards will be entitled to search persons and/or their possessions on entry to the event space. Staff will not take responsibility for any prohibited items
• Prohibited items include, but are not restricted to, large parasols, gazebos, awnings and portable barbecues
• The organisers reserve the right to refuse admission to the event enclosure for whatever reason
• All children (under 16) must be accompanied by an adult

All litter should be disposed of in the bins provided or taken home. This is an outdoor event, please dress appropriately for the anticipated weather conditions.

How do I get there?

Train - Middlesbrough Station is a few minutes’ walk away. From the station follow Albert Road towards the University. Centre Square is on your left just past the Town Hall. For train services and timetables visit www.nationalrail.co.uk

All routes to town centre. Parking is available at the Council car parks – please note that access to some car parks may be restricted
